Man Cave is a serious professional network for serious barbers, hairstylists and beauty professionals — people who know their craft and stay committed to learning and growing. Membership and referral access depend on meeting and maintaining these standards.

Service quality

  • Deliver the service you advertise, at the quality level your portfolio represents.
  • Consult before you cut or treat: confirm the look, the hair type and the outcome the client expects.
  • Use techniques and products appropriate to the client's hair texture, skin and scalp condition.
  • Own your work. If a result misses the mark, offer a fair fix within your stated policy.

Sanitation and safety

  • Hold and maintain every license, permit and insurance your state and city require.
  • Disinfect tools, chairs, capes and stations between every client, following your state board's rules.
  • Never work on infected, inflamed or broken skin, or with tools that cannot be properly sanitized.
  • Keep your workspace clean, well-lit, hazard-free and safe for clients of any age.

Reliability

  • Keep your availability accurate and honour the appointments you accept.
  • Show up on time and hold your schedule so clients are not left waiting.
  • If you must reschedule, tell the client as early as possible and offer a real alternative.
  • No-showing a client is a serious breach of this network's standards.

Communication

  • Respond to enquiries and booking requests promptly and professionally.
  • State your prices, deposits, late and cancellation policies clearly and up front — no surprise charges.
  • Keep your profile, services and pricing current and truthful.
  • Only publish photos of work you performed, with permission to display them.

Customer care

  • Treat every client with courtesy and respect — men, boys, teens and women alike.
  • Listen first, explain your recommendation, and respect the client's decision.
  • Protect client privacy and personal information.
  • Handle complaints calmly and in good faith; escalate to Man Cave rather than to a public argument.

Professional conduct

  • No harassment, discrimination, intoxication on the job, or unsafe or unlawful practices.
  • No fraud, fake credentials, stolen portfolio images, invented reviews or misleading claims.
  • Do not misrepresent your relationship with Man Cave — you are an independent professional.
  • Compete on craft, not by disparaging other members.

Continuing education

  • Keep learning: classes, certifications, texture and technique training, product knowledge.
  • Stay current with sanitation, safety and licensing requirements in your state.
  • Be open to feedback and act on it — improvement is the price of membership here.

Respectful community participation

  • The members-only community is for help, opportunities and referrals — keep it constructive.
  • Share knowledge generously and credit others' work.
  • No spam, poaching by deception, harassment, or sharing another member's private information.
  • Refer clients honestly, including when another professional is the better fit.

Client feedback & account review policy

Fair, documented, human.

One complaint does not end your membership

A single negative review or complaint never automatically removes a professional. People have bad days, and clients occasionally have expectations no stylist could have met.

Patterns trigger a documented review

Repeated credible negative feedback, a continuing pattern of poor client experiences, serious misconduct, fraud, unsafe practice, or repeated failure to meet these standards can trigger an account review.

You get a fair chance to respond

Before any action, we tell you what was raised and give you a reasonable window to respond with your side, context and evidence.

Graduated steps, not snap judgements

Where appropriate we use a warning, then an improvement period, then temporary suspension, and only then removal.

Serious cases can be suspended immediately

Safety risks, fraud and serious misconduct may warrant immediate suspension while the review is completed.

Repeated failures end in removal

Professionals who repeatedly fail these standards can be suspended or permanently removed from the platform. Membership and referral access depend on maintaining them.

No automated removal by star rating

We do not remove anyone on the basis of a star average alone. Every decision is a documented human review.

Honest public feedback, private moderation

Curated positive comments shown on a profile are clearly labelled "Featured Client Recommendations" — they are not presented as a complete or unbiased review system. Complaints and moderation records stay private between the professional and Man Cave.
